Somehow, I have managed to be the 24 year old that hasn't seen anything she is supposed to. Some days this goes completely unnoticed and life is good. Other days, most days, this isn't the case. Do you even realise how much you people reference movies in day to day conversations?! I've been slowly improving over the last few years, and can now fully integrate a Star Wars reference into a self description. Example:
'I was drunk last night, and now I look like Darth Sidious.'
If you thought I was about to go for a Jabba reference, get out now.
Despite my extensive (read:basic) Star Wars knowledge, I still seem to be about two lifetimes behind everyone else in terms of movie watching. It's time to get Sirius (Harry Potter, saw those) about it. So for the next 52 weeks, that's right, a whole year, I will be watching a movie that I haven't seen before. I've compiled a list by searching through TotalFilm, Empire etc. They all have lists titled 'Movies to Watch Before You Die' or something to that effect. I had a little browse and picked out the ones that I have been shamed for not seeing, regardless of whether I think they will be to my taste (I'm looking at you Dirty Dancing). Below you can see my list, and my schedule, there's no particular rhyme or reason to the order, that's just the way it happened.
Each week, I'll let you know how it goes, whether I liked the film, what I have learned, whether everyone INSISTING I watch it was a moron...
