Reasons To Love Autumn/Winter

  Layers

Jumpers, coats, tights! Finally we can get all cosy, (and we don't have to have see everyone's pasty or orange flesh)

Accessories

Hats, scarves, gloves! Are you a co-ordinator or a clasher?

Colours

Gone are the ghastly neons of summer, out come the berries and forest greens.

The Inevitable Return of the Heritage Trend

Just as the floral trend returns every spring/summer, the heritage trend also rocks round each year. This means we get to see people walking round city centres in tweed jackets and chunky knits a la farmers.

Quilts

Somehow a thin top sheet just doesn't cut it comfort wise. Now that the nights are getting cooler we can drag the quilt back out and get all snug. Note also the return of duvet days, which are non existent in the summer.

Breathable Air

The air is crisper, fresher, even in a city full of pollution. Morning jogs are easier, and somewhat refreshing.

Food

Much as I love a good salad, there's something to be said for winter food. I'm talking pies, stews, casseroles. Delicious, veg filled food! Just make sure you keep up the morning jogs!

Boots

Sandals suck. They always rub, they sometimes trip you, they are just generally out to get you. Winter boots are you friends, and if you find a good pair they will last you for years. They keep you warm, but more importantly (especially in Manchester) they keep you DRY. Sandals wouldn't do that.

What is your favourite thing about the Autumn/Winter season?
