Tales of an accidental house-girlfriend

Sometimes in life you have moments where you have to just stop and think to yourself: 'How did I end up here?' This happened to me at the beginning of last week whilst I was ironing a duvet cover. Me. Hannah Pendrigh. Ironing a duvet cover. Ironing anything! I was literally in the middle of doing it when I had to stop, take a step back and reevaluate my life. It's amazing how much things can change in such a short time.

I have just moved into a tiny village (it doesn't even have a shop!!!) with my boyfriend and I am loving it. My boss nearly threw up last weekend when I was gushing over the phone; "I have the perfect house, perfect car, perfect boyfriend!" It may come as a shock to some but playing housewife is something that has always appealed to me. When I returned home from work today, first priority on my list was putting my new flowers into my new vase.

Making my home look pretty is my new calling in life. I have spent numerous hours over the past week roaming around The Range (new favourite shop by the way), Asda Living, TK Maxx etc etc. My bank balance is definitely not appreciating it as much as I am! I'm also pretty sure Mark is getting tired of hearing the phrase 'I hope you like this....' We've turned this house into a home in little over a week though.

And what's this?

The dishes are on the CORRECT side of the washing up bowl, clean and sparkling! Rewind three years when I would just be crawling out of my pit, scraping off some dirty plates to make room for whatever calorific meal I could throw together before work. Now I am sat here on my new (second hand) sofa, writing my blog with a delicious sausage casserole bubbling away in the slow cooker.

I even have herbs growing on my window sill!

Okay, the parsley has been a major fail but let me off, I'm only a beginner!

The old me is still in there somewhere though because the face I found in our coal bucket never fails to make me chuckle... The most miserable coal bucket I have ever seen! He could have his own feature. I also spent a whole day cleaning whilst listening to 'Now That's What I Call Disney!' I am a walking contradiction.

So welcome to the new me! Don't worry, I haven't changed that much and I certainly won't be boring you with village life tales. I did go out and feed the ducklings recently though....

Scotch is back! I apologise for my lack of posts. I have been busy/lazy/idea-less of late but I am looking forward to getting back into regular blogging. I shall be joining Laura with Fit Friday as I am still on my never ending weight loss mission and I shall be adding regular recipes, reviews and other things beginning with R just because I like alliteration.

Until next time! I promise it will be before Christmas...
